Hi, I've recently just changed the settings on my router due to security reasons, and everything else in the house connects to the router just fine via the wireless, but when it comes to this specific laptop I cannot change a bloody thing.
My SSID has a giant red X next to it with the following: The settings saved on the computer for this network do not match the requirements for this network" All of which I am aware of! But when I go to set up another connection it tells me my SSID is in use, asks me if I would like to change the settings, then when I do the prompter asks me if I'd like to carry on, I click okay and it just vanishes.
I've spent the best part of an hour trawling through pages upon pages of things that sound nothing like my issue, I'm usually relatively tech savvy but I must admit this has me defeated, would anyone be so kind as to help me out? Thank you in advance, if anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it :. It provides the most protection available on your Verizon router. Note : The configuration screens may vary slightly depending on when you purchased your router and the version of firmware running on it.
Confirm that Group Key Update Interval is selected. One of the strengths of WPA2 encryption is that it self-generates a new key based on the original encryption key you enter. Thanks in advance. Go to Network Preferences Click wireless signal icon on menu bar, if displayed there , click advanced, choose the network you're going to change the password on, click on the pencil under the box, change the security from WEP to WPA2 and enter the new password.
Oct 11, PM. You have two choices If you went into Network preferences and airport, you should see the network with the wrong security type.
Choose the network, click on the pencil under the box, change the security from WEP to WPA2 and enter the new password.
